Frank W. Bowden, III, M.D., FACS
Dr. Bowden founded Bowden Eye Associates in January 2001 with a focus on comprehensive eye care, refractive surgery, glaucoma treatment, corneal and external diseases, corneal transplantation and ocular surface reconstruction. Dr. Bowden is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a Courtesy Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville.
After graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Dr. Bowden earned his medical doctorate in 1979 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where he was Valedictorian of his class. His post-graduate training included an internship and Ophthalmology residency at Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, and a fellowship in Cornea/External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Before founding Bowden Eye Associates, Dr. Bowden served as a battalion surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines (REIN) in 29 Palms, CA; a General Medicine Officer for the U.S. Marine Corps, also in 29 Palms; and a staff ophthalmologist for the U.S. Naval Service at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. He also established a private ophthalmology practice in 1988 and in 1989 founded the Baptist Eye Institute, of which he was a member until 2000.

Colleen M. King, O.D.
Dr. King received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2002 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA after earning a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She completed multiple internships at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA, New England Eye Institute in Boston with a specialty rotation in contact lenses, Aran Eye Associates in North Miami Beach, FL, Richlin Eye Associates in Beverly Hills, CA, and Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Newington, CT. She then completed her residency in Ocular Disease at Braveman Eye Center in Hollandale, FL.
Dr. King is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, Broward County Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Jeffrey D. Brown, O.D.
Dr. Brown received his bachelors degree in Biology from the University Of
Nebraska and his Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in
Memphis, TN. He completed two externships at Indian Health Service in Fort Hall,
ID and at International Contact Lens in Lincoln, NE during his medical education.
His post-graduate training included a residency in Primary Eye Care at Memphis
VAMC. Dr. Brown is also a member of the American Optometric Association.

Chandra M. Williams , O.D.
Dr. Williams received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in Birmingham, AL. After completing a series of externships at private practices and hospitals in Alabama and North Carolina, she continued her training with a year-long primary care residency at Malcom Randall VAMC in Gainesville, FL.
Dr. Williams is a member of the Florida
Optometric Association (FOA), the National Optometric Association (NOA), and the Alabama Optometric Association (ALOA).

Joseph Szwartz, O.D
Dr. Szwartz received his bachelor's degree from
Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dr.
Szwartz continued with his Pre-Medical and
Post-Bachelor education at Harvard University in
Boston, MA.
He later received his Doctor of Optometry from
nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale,
FL. Dr. Szwartz has also done research in the
area of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).
