Frank W. Bowden III, M.D.
Board Certified Cornea Specialist/Surgeon
Dr. Bowden founded Bowden Eye Associates in January 2001 with a focus on comprehensive eye care, custom cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery and laser therapy, corneal and external diseases, corneal transplantation and ocular surface disease reconstruction. Dr. Bowden is board certified in Ophthalmology and is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is also a Courtesy Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville.
After graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Dr. Bowden earned his medical doctorate in 1979 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, where he was Valedictorian of his class. His post-graduate training included an internship and Ophthalmology residency at Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA, and a fellowship in Cornea/External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Before founding Bowden Eye Associates, Dr. Bowden served as a battalion surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines (REIN) in 29 Palms, CA; a General Medicine Officer for the U.S. Marine Corps, also in 29 Palms; and a staff ophthalmologist for the U.S. Naval Service at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. He also established a private ophthalmology practice in 1988. In 1989 Dr. Bowden founded the Baptist Eye Institute, of which he was a member until 2000.

| Kristina Price, M.D.
Board Certified Oculoplastic Surgeon
Dr. Price is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with special emphasis in Reconstructive and Cosmetic Oculoplastics. Dr. Price received her baccalaureate degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, graduating with Distinction. Subsequently, she attended Emory University School of Medicine where she earned her medical doctorate in 2003, became a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, and received the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation Scholarship.
Dr. Price then completed an internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. After completing her internship, she returned to Emory University to complete a three-year ophthalmology residency. She then continued her specialty training at Duke University as a Fellow in Oculoplastic Surgery where she was given the honor of OMT Fellow Instructor of the Year.

Stephen Ume, M.D., M.S.
Board Eligible Ophthalmologist, Fellowship Trained Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Stephen Ume is an Ophthalmologist who specializes in Glaucoma medical and surgical management. Dr. Ume graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Molecular Genetics in 1993. He continued his education at the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy in 1995 and at Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School where he graduated with masters in Applied Physiology and a joint Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Science degree with emphasis in Pathology in June 2001.
Dr. Ume completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at Henry Ford Health Systems in 2005 and his glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine in 2006. He has participated in many presentations and published in ophthalmology academic journals.
